zekesphoto > The Third Prophet. Put together, the three bode ill for those who do not heed the words within the canyons. For those who listen and understand the majesty, sweeter words have not been spoken.
zekesphoto > The Placid side of the Angel River. Shot just a sunset, with the walls of Table Top Mountain rising up in sheer majesty. The brown of the water hiding the chill which lurks within.
zekesphoto > Navajo cliffs. The limestone formations within Zion are known as the Navajo Cliffs. The rugged texture belies a tale that only they can speak of.
zekesphoto > Face of Ancients. The NE face of the Table Top grotto section of Zion National Park. Picture was taken just before sunset, late March 2006. Look closely and you will natural carvings that appear to be pre historic drawings of a warrior, a lizard, a stallion and even a wolf. No wonder the Ancients found comfort here.
zekesphoto > Temple of the Virgins. A very majestic grotto, with a gruesome story to its name. The formation on the far right side of this picture has trails of red stone down it face, representing the blood of the sacrificed virgin, taken to the alter at the center of the "Temple".
zekesphoto > Angel River at base of Tabletop Mountain. This seemingly placid flow of water is responsible for much of the rock formation that is Zion. Over 3 million years, a lot of rock can be carried away.
zekesphoto > Tabletop grotto at dusk. The cliffs beginning to repose for the evening, with the Angel River sliding icily through the boulders.
zekesphoto > Tabletop just before dusk. The reddish gray of the peak begins to show its night color, with the forboding of a formation warning all those who would consider an ascent to think carefully, for as the light fades, so does the danger increase.
zekesphoto > Angel River at dusk, base of Tabletop Mountain. The murky water belies its frigid temperature, even as the sun paints Tabletop with the reddish brown hues that make the South West US one of the more sacred places on Mother Earth.
